Strange things seem to happen when a person is forced to balance a board on their head for a number of hours.
Common symptoms include the belief that the academic regalia can enable the wearer to fly.
This is the most extreme form of torture for an individual in academia. They will submit to anything. Even....

Further proof is the Indoctrination Certificate that is being clutched in the hand of this victim. This is commonly mistaken for a diploma, but, as is widely known, the actual diplomas are not given out at the graduation ceremony.

In spite of it all, the many and many Latin Americanists who graduated on that fateful day still celebrated with large cheer afterwards.

Or was this a lingering effect from the board balancing....?
